This Summer's Hottest Streamed Videos

Have you ever used our streamed video products?

These fantastic resources provide classroom and home use access to licenced videos and video clips 24/7. New videos are always being digitized, segmented and made available. There are thousands of educational videos available in these broad subject areas:

  • Business
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Technical Education
  • Health and Medicine

Real time streaming lets you view high quality videos digitally. All you need is your SAIT ID# and Library PIN. A SAIT ID Card  is used by students, staff and faculty to borrow materials from the library. The Library PIN is assigned by the Library and is needed to access our online resources.

Here are the top ten streaming videos accessed this summer:
  1. The Brain and Violence
  2. Movements at Joints of the Body
  3. The Nervous System and the Senses
  4. Speaking Essentials
  5. Blowing Bubbles: The Emergence of Stock Trading
  6. Chemical Bonding
  7. Breathing
  8. Cells, Tissues and Skin
  9. Hooked: America on Meth
  10. The Brain: The Last Enigma
Well, it seems a lot of  "brainiacs" have been viewing our videos during July and August and we think this is actually quite brilliant.

Stan Grad Centre and Reg Erhardt Library

Here on the SAIT campus, we have anxiously been awaiting the opening of the Trades and Technology Complex. Another exciting change on the campus is the renaming of the Heart Building and SAIT Library.
As of August 23, the Heart Building will be called the Stan Grad Centre. Stan Grad is a prestigious alumnus from the Petroleum Technology program. He was also greatly influenced and mentored by Reg Erhardt, who was a former SAIT instructor and SAIT President from 1990 - 1991. We are pleased to announce that the SAIT Library will now be known as the Reg Erhardt Library.
We are honoured to be a part of these important acknowledgements.

Did you know...

ACAD was once a part of Sait?

While today the Alberta College of Art and Design is an independent institution located a short distance from the main Sait campus, ACAD once existed as a department of Sait. Formed in 1926, the continuous growth of the Art Department in both enrollment levels and instructional programs necessitated the construction in 1973 of a new structure designed specifically to house the department. Despite having separated from the main campus, however, the art college was still under the direct governance of Sait administration at this time, and would continue to be so for the next 12 years. In 1985, with official recognition by the Government of Alberta, the institution was officially granted autonomy from Sait governance under the title the Alberta College of Art (later changed in 1995 to the Alberta College of Art and Design), and has continued to exist as a self-governed body ever since.
To find out more about the history of Sait and the Alberta College of Art and Design, please contact the Sait Archives or view our online collections.
